Vargab Bakshi appointed Chief Growth Officer at GoKwik, leading global growth and product innovation for India’s top D2C e-commerce enablement platform.
GoKwik, India’s top e-commerce platform, has named Vargab Bakshi as Chief Growth Officer. This is a key addition to the company’s executive team at a time when it is aggressively growing in India and around the world.
Bakshi will be in charge of GoKwik’s overall growth strategy as Chief Growth Officer. This will include branding, marketing, international go-to-market execution, partnerships, and a focus on product-led growth. Bakshi is a well-known figure in the global e-commerce ecosystem. He has a lot of experience from his time at Shopify, where he was a founding member of Shopify India and led the company’s partner strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. He also worked at Wix.com as Vice President and Country Head, where he was in charge of business, partnerships, and digital adoption for India’s small and medium-sized businesses and agencies.
Bakshi will also be in charge of GrowKwik, GoKwik’s D2C-first education and content platform that already helps half a million entrepreneurs in India.
A Vision for Accelerated Growth
Chirag Taneja, Co-founder & CEO of GoKwik, expressed his excitement:
Vargab brings a rare blend of ecosystem thinking, product-led growth and global GTM expertise with a strong empathy for merchants from his Shopify days. As we scale our presence across borders, his leadership will be key in building a growth engine that is brand-led, product-first, and global by design. We’re excited to have him onboard.
GoKwik: Helping D2C Brands Succeed
GoKwik was created to help D2C (direct-to-consumer) brands with their problems. It offers a set of AI-powered tools that help online stores make checkouts easier, lower return-to-origin (RTO) rates, and increase payment success. GoKwik is trusted by more than 12,000 brands, including Lenskart, Shoppers Stop, Neeman’s, and Man Matters. It serves more than 130 million shoppers and covers all aspects of e-commerce growth, from recovering abandoned carts and preventing fraud to keeping customers engaged after they buy something and making payments easier. The company’s “India first” strategy has been shown to bring in more money and make customer experiences better. However, its solutions are also built to work well on a global scale.
Recently, RTP Global led a $13 million growth round for GoKwik. This money will help the company make new products, hire more people, and grow internationally.
