Bandhan Bank has launched Cyber Cop, a corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at raising awareness about cyber fraud and encouraging safer digital behaviour across India. The campaign is presented by Hindustan Times and implemented by Aident Social Welfare Organisation, with filmmaker Rohit Shetty joining as a key partner to amplify its message through a short film and wider public outreach.
Cyber Cop is built on a simple behavioural framework: Pause. Verify. Report. The idea is to help people stop before reacting to suspicious messages, calls, or links, check the authenticity of the request, and then report confirmed frauds quickly through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or the 1930 helpline. By keeping the message short and repeatable, the campaign tries to make cyber hygiene easy to understand and easy to act on in everyday life.
The initiative focuses on common scam tactics such as fake bank calls, fraudulent QR codes, phishing links, digital arrest threats, and misleading investment offers. It encourages citizens to never share OTPs or personal details, to treat unexpected financial requests with caution, and to seek help from official channels when something feels wrong. Through films, digital and print awareness material, and community events, Cyber Cop aims to turn ordinary users into active “cyber cops” who can protect themselves and their families.
This move reflects a broader push by banks and public institutions to strengthen digital safety as India’s economy becomes increasingly online. For Bandhan Bank, Cyber Cop is not just a compliance exercise but a long-term effort to build trust, reduce fraud losses, and create a more resilient digital ecosystem for its customers and the wider public.
