WPP Media has entered into a strategic technology partnership with agentic AI startup Kily to deepen its ecommerce capabilities in India. The alliance combines Kily’s autonomous commerce technology with WPP Open, WPP’s agentic marketing platform, creating a more connected stack for brands selling across marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms.
Kily builds AI agents that manage core commerce functions, including product listings, pricing, promotions and advertising across multiple platforms. By integrating this layer into WPP Media’s India Commerce Practice, the partners aim to use real-time signals from different marketplaces, categories and consumer touchpoints to inform planning and execution in a unified way.
A key outcome of the partnership is the enhancement of WPP Media’s Integrated Commerce Planner, now powered by Kily’s agentic AI. This planner is designed to align demand forecasting, inventory decisions and media investment, so brands can move from reactive campaign tweaks to predictive, outcome-focused optimisation.
For advertisers, the promise is greater agility and scale in ecommerce: automated listing optimisation, smarter pricing, and media that responds to shifts in demand and supply rather than working on static plans. As India’s ecommerce and quick-commerce sectors become more complex, WPP Media sees autonomous advertising and AI-led commerce as central to delivering measurable business growth.
Ashwin Padmanabhan, COO WPP Media, South Asia said, “Ecommerce today is no longer linear, it is shaped by multiple signals, fragmented platforms and constant shifts in demand. Our Integrated Commerce Planner developed in partnership with Kily, brings these moving parts into a more connected system where planning, activation, and measurement are continuously aligned. By embedding AI-led intelligence into everyday decision-making, it enables brands to move from reactive execution to a more predictive, outcome-driven approach to growth.”
Sankalp Mehrotra, co-founder and CEO, Kily, said, “Kily is deeply focussed on bringing autonomy to commerce management. India’s fragmented multi-marketplace landscape makes a solution like ours critical for judgment, decision making and outcomes at scale. Working with WPP Media, we are enabling brands to respond faster, operate more efficiently and unlock stronger performance across quick commerce and marketplaces.”
The partnership also fits into WPP Media’s broader positioning as a media collective built for the AI era, where commerce, content and media are increasingly orchestrated through agentic platforms rather than siloed tools. With Kily on board, the group is signalling a stronger push toward practical, AI-driven commerce solutions for Indian brands.
