Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has appointed Gaurav Laghate as its new Head of PR and Corporate Communications, effective September 2025. In this role, Laghate will be responsible for leading the company’s communications strategy, focusing on enhancing SPNI’s corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement across its businesses. He directly reports to Gaurav Banerjee, MD and CEO of SPNI.
Gaurav Laghate brings over 17 years of journalism experience to the position, having held senior editorial roles including Senior Editor and Head of the Consumer Bureau at Mint. His expertise covers the media and entertainment industry extensively, including linear and OTT platforms as well as regulatory affairs and the advertising sector.
Laghate’s appointment aligns with SPNI’s goal to strengthen authentic storytelling and trust among stakeholders as the company enters its next phase of growth. His deep industry knowledge and strategic approach are expected to add value to the leadership team, as SPNI seeks to consolidate its position as a leading content powerhouse in India.
This leadership change follows the departure of the previous head of corporate communications, demonstrating SPNI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its communication channels and corporate image in a competitive and fast-evolving media landscape.
