IIM Calcutta alumnus Sameer Singh appointed Additional Director & MD of HT Media for 5 years from March 2026, bringing 30+ years from TikTok & GroupM
Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd (HMVL), publisher of Hindustan and Mint, has approved Sameer Singh’s appointment as Additional Director and Managing Director of HT Media Limited for a five-year term starting March 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approval. Singh, already CEO of HMVL and Group CEO of HT Media since March 2025, will also serve as Key Managerial Personnel, consolidating leadership amid digital shifts.
An IIM Calcutta alumnus with 30+ years across media, digital platforms, agencies, and brands, Singh previously headed North America Global Business Solutions at TikTok/ByteDance, leading ad sales and revenue. He earlier managed ByteDance’s Asia-Pacific operations, scaling high-growth digital markets.
As CEO of GroupM India & South Asia, Singh drove digital transformation, content solutions, and client growth. His stints at Google (agency partnerships), GSK, P&G, and IPG shaped media strategies during digital adoption.
The elevation aligns print leadership (Q3 FY26 revenue ₹212 crore, up 7.6% YoY) with digital push (₹28 crore), despite profit dip to ₹89 lakh. Singh’s mandate focuses on monetization, transformation, and navigating news consumption changes in Hindi markets.
HT Media Group, encompassing print, digital, radio (Fever FM), and events, gains from Singh’s platform expertise as competitors digitize aggressively. This formalizes his role for strategic continuity and growth.
