Nissan India names Gagan Mangal as Head of Communications effective Jan 12, 2026, to lead brand resurgence, product launches, and media strategy from Gurugram.
Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) has appointed Gagan Mangal as Head of Communications, effective January 12, 2026. Based in Gurugram, Mangal will oversee all communications functions, reporting to Katherine Zachary, Vice President – International Communications, while collaborating closely with Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, NMIPL.
Mangal joins from Volkswagen India where he led Press and Marketing Communications. A management graduate with over 18 years of automotive expertise, he previously worked with Hyundai and has driven integrated strategies for product launches, large-scale events, and brand campaigns across national and regional media.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time as Nissan accelerates its brand resurgence in India ahead of exciting product launches. Saurabh Vatsa emphasized Mangal’s “deep automotive communications expertise and strong understanding of the Indian media landscape” as critical for strengthening Nissan’s narrative.
