Apollo Tyres partners with BCCI as lead sponsor for Indian cricket teams, securing jersey branding rights and expanding presence through 2028.
The Indian cricket teams now have as their head sponsor Apollo Tyres, following the completion of the sponsorship agreement which extends to March 2028. For Apollo Tyres, the partnership is significant as it is the company’s first sponsorship of an Indian cricket team, and cricket is one of the most cherished sports in the country.
As part of the agreement, which is due for completion in 2028 and includes the 2024 Summer Olympics, Apollo Tyres will be allowed to display their logo on the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams for all formats of the game. In the sponsorship’s competitive auction, Apollo Tyres defeated Canva and JK Tyres for the highest bid.
Per the agreement, Apollo Tyres will be the first sponsor to pay for bilateral matches, with the amount set at 4.5 crore, which is more than what the previous sponsor, Dream 11, paid. With the partnership, which has an estimated 579 crore value, Indian international cricket’s extensive schedule with over 130 matches will allow for significant brand exposure across the globe, thus sponsorship will enable Apollo Tyres to gain extensive brand recognition globally.
This sponsorship enables Apollo Tyres to engage with a new segment of the public while promoting sports in the country. The sponsorship serves to highlight the alignment of the brand’s performance and safety values with the competitive spirit and global stature of Indian cricket. There is considerable optimism that the collaboration will aid in achieving large scale growth and success for both parties in the coming years.
