Range Rover introduces a minimalist new logo featuring stylized “R”s and a signature checker pattern, marking its first update in 55 years as the brand prepares for its electric SUV debut.
Range Rover has shown off a new logo for the first time since the brand’s launch in 1970. This is a big change in both the way the brand looks and the way it does business as it gets ready to release its first fully electric SUV later this year.
The new logo has two stylized, wide-set “R”s in a simple style. This shows that the famous luxury SUV brand is going in a more modern and high-end direction. This new design is meant to be used in certain places, like on wheel caps, grilles, merchandise, and interior details, where the full name would be too long. It does not replace the classic “Range Rover” script on the front and back of the vehicles.
Along with the logo, there is the first appearance of the “Range Rover Pattern,” which has a checkerboard pattern and the mirrored “R” motif as its main design feature. As Range Rover moves into the electric era, this pattern is likely to show up on upholstery, speaker grilles, and packaging, making the brand’s look even more unique.
The redesign is part of JLR’s larger “House of Brands” plan, which puts Range Rover next to Jaguar, Defender, and Discovery as a separate luxury brand with its own unique identity and marketing plan. The name “Land Rover” will still be a sign of trust and engineering heritage, but it will not be as important in consumer branding.
Adrian Mardell, the CEO of JLR, has said that the Land Rover mark is still an important part of the brand’s DNA, even though the new Range Rover emblem is the main focus in some places. This change shows that JLR is serious about modern luxury, going electric, and having a polished, unified brand presence as it competes in the quickly changing premium SUV market.
Range Rover is ready to lead the next chapter in luxury car innovation with its new look and the soon-to-be-released first electric model. It will combine its history with cutting-edge design and technology.
