Havas Media Network India has appointed Tabassum Modi as Chief Content Officer and Head of Havas Play India, placing a seasoned content leader at the center of its experiential and culture-led business. Modi will report to Mohit Joshi, CEO of Havas Media Network India, and will be based in Mumbai.
In her new role, Modi will oversee Havas Play India’s four core verticals: content, entertainment, sports and social. The move brings these functions under one leadership layer, giving the network a more integrated structure for developing brand experiences that go beyond traditional media planning.
Modi joins Havas from Omnicom Media Group and brings more than 20 years of experience across media, entertainment, education and digital businesses. Her background includes building content-led businesses, managing large P&L portfolios, creating IP-driven monetisation models and forming strategic partnerships for brands. That mix of operational and commercial experience makes her well suited to lead a business that sits at the intersection of storytelling and brand engagement.
Havas Play India has been positioned as the network’s dedicated platform for sports, entertainment, social and content-led brand solutions. With Modi’s appointment, the company appears to be doubling down on the idea that brands want more than reach; they want cultural relevance, community connection and measurable impact. Her leadership is expected to help Havas sharpen its offering in areas like branded content, experiential work and pop-culture partnerships.
The appointment also reflects the broader shift in the advertising industry toward integrated, experience-driven communication. As brands increasingly invest in non-traditional media, leaders like Modi are becoming essential for turning content, sports and entertainment into business value.
