Asian Paints turns Diwali preparations into a celebration with its new musical campaign, ‘Taiyyari Shuru, Tyohaar Shuru’. Created by Ogilvy India, the film shows that the festival begins well before Diwali day, when families start cleaning, decorating and refreshing their homes.
The campaign positions home painting as an important part of the festive build-up. It moves away from showing only a finished, decorated home. Instead, it celebrates the energy, conversations and small moments that happen while families prepare their spaces to welcome loved ones.
The ad film uses a colourful, larger-than-life musical format. A foot-tapping tune and playful lyrics turn everyday tasks such as cleaning, arranging decorations and giving walls a fresh coat of paint into a joyful celebration.
The film opens with a mother and son unpacking festive decorations. As they begin to sing, an oversized paint can bursts open, releasing dancers dressed as paint colours. The dancers move across the set, helping transform plain beige rooms into bright, festive interiors.
The campaign uses practical sets and in-camera techniques. These effects help turn simple home-makeover moments into vivid visuals filled with patterns, colours and traditional Indian fabrics, ending with a musical finale and fireworks.
Asian Paints has framed the idea around togetherness. The film shows family members, cousins, relatives and friends joining the preparations. Their opinions, laughter and shared effort turn routine chores into moments of connection.
Sukesh Nayak, Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy India, said the campaign celebrates the beautiful chaos of Diwali preparations. He added that the festive season begins when homes start changing, and Asian Paints aims to be part of that journey.
Syngle, Chief Marketing Officer at Asian Paints, said the brand wanted to capture the warmth and energy of Diwali preparations. He said the musical film reflects the joy, togetherness and excitement that make the festival special.
With ‘Taiyyari Shuru, Tyohaar Shuru’, Asian Paints reinforces its role in India’s festive home makeover tradition. The campaign links fresh walls, family memories and festive anticipation, making preparation itself the beginning of the celebration.
