ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. has secured the exclusive broadcast and digital media rights for Italy’s top football competitions – Serie A, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana – across India and six neighbouring South Asian markets.
The five-year deal begins on August 22, 2026, and covers India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan and the Maldives. Fans in these markets will be able to watch live matches, highlights and related football programming on Zee5 and the company’s Unite8 Sports channels.
The move strengthens ZEE’s premium sports portfolio and adds another major property to its football offering. It also expands the broadcaster’s reach in live sports at a time when football rights continue to command strong audience and advertiser interest across digital and linear platforms.
For ZEE, the rights win creates a fresh opportunity to build football viewership around one of Europe’s biggest leagues while using both television and streaming to deepen engagement. The company has been investing in sports distribution as part of its wider strategy to grow subscription, reach and advertiser value.
The acquisition also reflects the broader shift in sports media, where premium rights are increasingly used to anchor platform strategy and content discovery. With Serie A now joining its lineup, ZEE can position itself as a stronger destination for football fans across India and South Asia.
