
ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited has elevated Jit Sengupta to Vice President – Central Marketing & Creative Services, expanding his leadership remit across several of the company’s major channel clusters. In the new role, Sengupta will oversee marketing for the Hindi Movie Cluster, Marathi Movie Cluster, Bhojpuri, Youth Cluster comprising Zest and Zing, Zee Live and the Unite8 Sports portfolio.
Sengupta has been with ZEE since 2019, when he joined as Lead – Brand Management, and was later promoted to Vice President overseeing ZEE Biskope and ZEE Bangla Cinema in April 2022. During that period, he helped establish ZEE Biskope as a market leader and sustain its reach leadership for two consecutive years through strong brand strategy and multi-channel marketing. His elevation reflects the company’s confidence in his ability to manage larger, more diverse brand ecosystems.
Before ZEE, Sengupta worked in marketing roles at ABP Group, The Times of India, Magma Fincorp and SJ Enterprise, building experience across brand management, digital marketing and regional media. That broad background has helped shape a consumer-first approach grounded in data analysis, audience insight and budget discipline.
The new mandate comes at a pivotal moment for ZEE as it broadens its sports and entertainment portfolio, especially with Unite8 Sports and a greater focus on multi-language content and younger audiences. Sengupta’s role will likely combine central planning with cluster-specific execution, ensuring that each channel family gets a differentiated marketing strategy while still aligning to the larger ZEE brand architecture.
His appointment also underscores ZEE’s preference for internal leadership development, promoting executives who already understand the company’s audience segments, creative requirements and market dynamics.
