Marico Ltd, one of India’s leading FMCG companies, has announced the acquisition of a 60% stake in health and wellness brand Cosmix for ₹226 crore ($25 million). The move marks a significant step in Marico’s strategy to expand its footprint in the fast-growing nutrition and wellness segment.

Founded in 2019 by Arjun Vaidya and his team, Cosmix is known for its range of plant-based health mixes designed to support immunity, gut health, sleep quality, and overall wellness. The startup gained popularity among urban consumers seeking clean, functional nutrition products made from natural ingredients.
Under the agreement, Marico has the option to acquire the remaining 40% stake after FY2029, contingent on the brand’s performance and strategic synergies. This structure allows both parties to collaborate on scaling Cosmix’s operations while benefiting from Marico’s established distribution and marketing capabilities.
With this acquisition, Marico aims to strengthen its wellness and nutrition portfolio, complementing its existing brands such as Saffola Fittify and True Elements. The company has been diversifying its portfolio to reduce dependency on its traditional segments like hair oils and edible oils.
