Alap Ghosh will be the first CEO of Assembly in India. Assembly is a global omnichannel media agency in the Stagwell network. Ghosh will be in charge of Assembly’s unified national operations in Mumbai and Bangalore, and he will report directly to Matt Adams, the company’s Global Chief Operating Officer.
Ghosh has a long and successful career in the digital, media, and technology fields that spans more than 25 years. Before that, he was the Head of Data and Technology Partnerships at Google India, where he helped big companies use digital marketing and technology to grow their businesses. He also has experience leading Jellyfish, starting a data consultancy, and working with ad tech, martech, and programmatic platforms.
Ghosh’s new job is to make sure that Assembly’s media, creative, technology, and commerce services all work together to make a single, future-ready agency model for India. This restructuring is meant to break down silos, give clients connected experiences across all channels, and speed up Assembly’s growth in what it sees as a key market. The move also comes at the same time as Assembly takes over old digital commerce operations and a bigger push in the region, showing a stronger commitment to India as a quickly growing centre for digital media and marketing.
Assembly’s leaders see Ghosh’s appointment as a key step in taking advantage of India’s growing market for multinational brands. Rick Acampora, the company’s Global CEO, stressed that the company wants to build “something genuinely differentiated” in the region. Ghosh said that the appointment was a chance to make a bold, unified offering that sets new standards for the future of marketing in India, which is growing quickly in terms of creativity, culture, and technology.
