Mumbai-based 72 Street, a SEBI-registered research analyst-led platform, has raised ₹4 crore from angel investors and ultra high net worth individuals (UHNIs) as it looks to expand beyond equities into Futures & Options (F&O), model portfolios, mutual funds and commodities. The company plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its technology and product capabilities and scale both its flagship 72 Street app and Venty, its AI-powered stock market researcher.
Founded by former JioBlackRock AMC technology head Fal Ghancha, 72 Street combines regulated research with AI-powered analysis to make informed investing more accessible to retail investors. The platform currently operates in the equities research space, with Venty scanning over 3,800 NSE- and BSE-listed stocks in under 20 seconds to surface insights for users. To date, 72 Street has invested ₹3 crore in the business, with 45% of that capital directed towards technology and product development of the app and Venty. The company is registered with SEBI as a research analyst under registration number INH000029722.
With the new funding, 72 Street plans to move beyond equities into F&O, model portfolios, commodities and mutual funds, with these offerings expected to be available through both the 72 Street app and Venty AI. The roadmap includes building out deeper analytical capabilities for derivatives and multi-asset portfolios, while extending Venty’s AI research layer across these new product lines. As part of this vision, 72 Street is also seeking registration as a SEBI Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), a step that would allow the platform to provide one-on-one investment advisory directly to individual investors. This would complement its existing research-analyst mandate and enable more personalised guidance for users who want tailored portfolio recommendations.
The move comes as retail participation in F&O and multi-asset investing continues to grow, with investors increasingly looking for structured research, model portfolios and clear risk frameworks rather than just raw data or tips. By layering AI-driven analysis on top of regulated research, 72 Street is positioning itself as a hybrid between traditional research analysts and next-generation wealthtech platforms. The ₹4 crore raise, while modest in absolute terms, is aimed at product depth and regulatory expansion rather than broad customer acquisition, signalling a focus on building a more comprehensive, compliant investment research and advisory stack before scaling aggressively.
