Acer India has signed Bollywood star Akshay Kumar as its brand ambassador for the complete “House of Acer” portfolio, marking a strategic shift beyond personal computing into integrated home technology solutions. The announcement coincides with Acer’s 50th anniversary globally and 27 years of operations in the Indian market.
The partnership aligns with Acer’s “House of Acer” initiative, which unifies its computing products including laptops and desktops with consumer appliances from the Acerpure range such as televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, and other home solutions. The platform positions technology as an integral part of everyday living rather than standalone devices, creating a connected home ecosystem that blends productivity, entertainment, and domestic life under a single brand umbrella.
Harish Kohli, President & Managing Director, Acer India Group said, “For 50 years globally and 27 years in India, Acer has continued to evolve with the changing needs of consumers. Today, technology is no longer confined to the desk but is an integral part of how we work, relax, entertain ourselves and live. The House of Acer brings this evolution together, creating a home where technology is designed to make everyday life smarter, easier and healthier. Akshay Kumar embodies qualities such as performance, discipline, reliability and constant evolution, making him a natural partner for this next chapter of Acer.”
The appointment comes as Acer expands its India ambitions beyond traditional PC categories. During the pandemic, the Taiwanese manufacturer introduced small appliances, subsequently scaling into large appliances while establishing subsidiaries for luggage and device repair services. The “House of Acer” identity now encompasses multiple consumer categories under corresponding Taiwanese parent firms, with operational coordination from Acer India.
The collaboration was unveiled at a “House of Acer” event held at Mumbai’s Juhu JW Marriott hotel, where Kumar’s endorsement will support awareness-building for Acer’s diversified product portfolio. The partnership aims to increase visibility of Acer’s broader ecosystem as the company transitions from a PC-centric brand to a comprehensive home technology provider serving modern Indian households.
