With the goal of growing its premium user base and encouraging adoption in a price-sensitive market, X (formerly Twitter) is slashing its subscription fees in India by as much as 48%.
X (formerly Twitter) has slashed its subscription prices by up to 48% across all tiers in a calculated attempt to increase the number of its premium users in India. In an effort to entice more users to sign up and utilize its premium features, the platform has lowered the prices of its Premium, Basic, and Premium+ plans.
The Premium plan for mobile users is now ₹470/month instead of ₹900, and the web version is ₹427. The Premium+ tier, which provides an ad-free experience and upgraded tools like SuperGrok, now starts at ₹2,570 on the web and ₹3,000 on mobile, while the Basic plan has been reduced to ₹170/month.
This cut coincides with X’s vigorous efforts, led by Elon Musk, to increase subscription income and lessen its dependency on advertising. India is a perfect market for this strategy because of its sizable population of internet-savvy consumers and price-conscious audience. The business also explained that third-party app store commissions are the reason why mobile prices are still higher.
Premium features like priority ranking, longer posts, blue check verification, and sophisticated analytics tools are now much more affordable thanks to these new rates. For brands, influencers, and content producers looking to increase exposure and interaction, it also gives them a competitive edge.
Now that the updated prices are available on the X app and web platform, users have a timely chance to improve their experience for a significantly lower price.
