
Seshadri Shankaran has been appointed as Senior Vice President – Client Investments, Marketplace and Partnerships, India at WPP Media, taking charge of trading strategies, client investment governance and media partner alliances.
Based in Mumbai, Shankaran brings over two decades of experience in revenue strategy, dynamic pricing, media investments, yield optimization and digital monetization. In his new role, he will drive strategic deal structuring, publisher marketplace negotiations and investment frameworks across offline and digital media portfolios for WPP Media’s clients in India.
Shankaran joins WPP Media after serving as General Manager – Business Strategy and Revenue Planning at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India). During his time at BCCL, he led long-range revenue roadmaps, dynamic pricing models and monetization frameworks across print and digital publishing assets.
His appointment marks a return to the WPP ecosystem, where he previously spent a decade at GroupM in key leadership roles. His past positions at GroupM include National Head – Agency Investments, Head – Strategic Partnerships (India), Business Head for Inventory Media and Product Head at Matrix. Earlier, he served as Director at mConsult, providing media sales and business strategy advisory across India.
Shankaran’s earlier career includes product and revenue strategy roles at Star TV Network and Times Internet, along with yield management at AOL and sales strategy at Tyroo Media. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communications and Entrepreneurship from MICA, Ahmedabad, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from Mumbai University.
His appointment strengthens WPP Media’s investment leadership as agency networks focus on outcome-based advertising, transparent pricing and strategic partnerships in India’s evolving media landscape.
