Swiggy and McDonald’s India (West & South) have launched the exclusive McDonald’s Protein Plus Burgers range, available only on the Swiggy app from July 24 to August 11, 2025. This collaboration brings a major nutritional upgrade to the McDonald’s menu, aiming to meet the growing demand for protein-rich and health-conscious fast-food options in India.
Key Details:
- The Protein Plus range can be ordered from the “High Protein” section of the Swiggy app and is available in 58 cities across Western and Southern India, including Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Vizag, Surat, and Mysore.
- Developed in partnership with the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), the Protein Plus slice is added to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian burgers. Each slice contains 5 grams of plant-based protein (from soya and pea), is free from artificial flavors and colors, and adds only 34 kcal per serving.
- The range includes popular menu items such as McSpicy Premium Veg, McVeggie, McSpicy Paneer, McSpicy Premium Chicken, McChicken, Masala McEgg, Crispy Veggie Burger, and more.
- Additionally, McDonald’s is offering Multi-Millet Buns co-created with CFTRI, featuring five nutrient-dense millets for extra fiber, vitamins, and minerals in select burgers.
Rationale & Impact:
- The campaign is part of McDonald’s “Real Food Real Good” initiative, emphasizing healthier fast-food choices as Indian consumers become more protein-conscious.
- Swiggy’s exclusivity for this launch is positioned to drive health-focused consumers to the platform and reinforces both brands’ commitment to innovation in the quick-service restaurant space.
This initiative reflects evolving food trends and rising consumer awareness about nutrition, making high-protein options more accessible without compromising on the classic McDonald’s taste
