Voltas Limited has appointed Prasenjit Basu as Head – Marketing & Corporate Communications, marking a strategic leadership elevation as the Tata enterprise strengthens its brand strategy and stakeholder engagement functions. Basu took charge of the expanded role in August 2026, moving from his previous position as Head of Marketing, Product & Ecommerce at Voltas Beko, the company’s joint venture with Turkey’s Arçelik.
The appointment represents an internal promotion within the Voltas ecosystem, with Basu bringing more than nine years of experience from Voltas Beko, where he joined in April 2017. Prior to his tenure at Voltas Beko, he served as Senior General Manager – Marketing at Voltas Limited, giving him deep familiarity with the parent brand’s marketing operations and corporate positioning.
Basu’s career spans over 25 years across consumer durables, retail, FMCG, media, and broadcasting sectors. His professional journey includes leadership roles at prominent organizations such as TEN Sports Network, Videocon Consumer Durables, Reliance Digital Retail, LG Electronics, Burson-Marsteller – Genesis PR, DLF Universal, and Eastman Kodak Company. This diverse cross-category experience positions him to bring a broad perspective to Voltas’s marketing and communications mandate.
At Voltas Beko, Basu played a pivotal role in driving brand strategy, product development, e-commerce, digital marketing, consumer insights, and business growth. He was instrumental in transforming the business into a profitable sports-entertainment platform while helping build the brand and expand its presence across major home appliance categories. His expertise spans integrated marketing communications, digital transformation, and consumer-centric brand building.
In his new role at Voltas, he will oversee the company’s comprehensive marketing function and corporate communications mandate, reporting into the senior leadership team as the company continues to strengthen its market presence in India’s competitive consumer durables and home appliances sector.
The leadership change comes as Voltas continues to navigate evolving consumer preferences and competitive dynamics in India’s home appliances and cooling solutions market, with marketing and corporate communications playing an increasingly strategic role in brand differentiation and stakeholder engagement.
