VinFast India appoints Honda veteran Anurag Saxena as Deputy CEO to lead EV market entry, operations and growth with 23 years auto expertise.
VinFast Auto India Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast, has appointed Anurag Saxena as Deputy CEO to spearhead its market expansion plans. Saxena, with close to 23 years in the automotive industry, steps in to drive operational excellence, innovation and sustainable growth as VinFast ramps up its presence in India’s competitive EV landscape. The move bolsters the leadership team amid preparations for a full-scale commercial launch of models like VF6 and VF7 SUVs.
Saxena joins after a long tenure at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), where he most recently served as Operating Officer from April 2024 to February 2026. In that position, he managed over 135 teams across six divisions, covering business development, product strategy, marketing, electrification initiatives, dealer network growth and digital sales tools. He advanced HMSI’s EV roadmap, including the debut of an EV concept store in Bengaluru in June 2025 and plans for a nationwide electric retail network.
Earlier at HMSI, Saxena led the North Region as General Manager from 2021 to 2024, achieving 30% volume growth and lifting market share from 21% to 28% across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. From 2016 to 2021, as Deputy General Manager for the Central Region, he expanded dealer networks in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. His career began in international sales at Cosmo Ferrites Limited, handling US and Europe markets. Saxena holds a BE in Electronics and Telecommunications from Amravati University and an MBA in Marketing and Systems from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya.
