How do you define meaningful customer engagement today?
Meaningful customer engagement today centers on relevance and trust. Brands frequently mistake noise for connection, but true engagement happens when a brand respects the actual context of a person’s life. It lives at the intersection of strategy and emotional intelligence — delivering value before asking for attention and listening more than speaking.
The strongest strategies prioritize a consistent brand point of view over fleeting trends. Ultimately, engagement succeeds when customers feel seen and understood rather than managed or manipulated through a funnel.
What advice would you give brands and agencies planning to submit their work?
My primary advice is to prioritize clarity over complexity. We see many submissions that are perfectly polished but feel soulless. Rather than inflated metrics or “flawless” execution, I look for the honest strategic insight that drove the solution.
Highlight the tangible change your work creates in the world. I prioritize projects that shift human behavior or spark movements. These outcomes often hold more weight than reach or revenue metrics. Changing how people think and act is a far more difficult and meaningful achievement.
