Pocket FM hires former Meta FAIR scientist Vasu Sharma as Head of AI to advance Pocket LLMs, AI CoPilot, and narrative intelligence for global audio storytelling creators.
Pocket FM has appointed Vasu Sharma, former scientist at Meta’s Facebook AI Research (FAIR), as Head of Artificial Intelligence. Reporting to co-founder Prateek Dixit, Sharma will spearhead AI research across narrative generation, production intelligence, and large-scale localisation to power the platform’s 3 lakh+ creators and 1 lakh+ audio titles.
Sharma’s FAIR tenure contributed to flagship multimodal models including Llama, Chameleon, MaVIL, and audio-video foundation systems. With 90+ research papers cited 10,000+ times across NeurIPS, CVPR, and ACL, he brings unmatched expertise in long-context reasoning and fiction-native AI—critical for audio storytelling’s dramatic structure and emotional cadence.
His mandate centers on evolving Pocket FM’s proprietary AI CoPilot and Pocket LLMs, enabling story ideation, plot design, emotional toning, editing, and multi-language adaptation while preserving creator control. Sharma emphasized: “AI should enhance workflows, not replace creators… We’re building fiction-native systems that grasp story structure.”
The hire accelerates Pocket FM’s global expansion, where AI streamlines production scale without diluting creative ownership. Dixit noted Sharma’s “world-class research experience” positions Pocket FM to unlock AI-powered IP generation across markets. Currently leading 5-10 researchers with expansion plans, Sharma bridges cutting-edge research with commercial audio innovation.
