Sony Sports Network is launching dedicated Tamil and Telugu channels – Sony Sports Ten 4 Tamil and Sony Sports Ten 4 Telugu – on July 10, 2025, to enhance regional sports engagement and accessibility in South India.
Sony Sports Network is taking a major step to strengthen its regional connect with Indian viewers by launching two dedicated sports channels in Tamil and Telugu. Starting July 10, 2025, fans across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana will be able to enjoy their favorite sporting events in their native languages through Sony Sports Ten 4 Tamil and Sony Sports Ten 4 Telugu. This strategic move aims to bridge the linguistic gap in sports broadcasting and cater to the growing demand for vernacular content.
The launch of these region-specific channels aligns with Sony’s larger plan to personalize content and enhance emotional resonance with its viewers. Tamil and Telugu fans will now get live commentary for top-tier events like cricket, UEFA Champions League, UFC, WWE, and more, all in their mother tongues – without the need to toggle audio tracks. This clarity and convenience are expected to significantly boost viewership and loyalty.
To further simplify the viewer experience, Sony is also rebranding its existing Hindi channels. Sony Sports Ten 3 (SD) will become Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi, while Sony Sports Ten 3 (HD) will be renamed Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi HD. This rebranding initiative ensures that audiences can quickly identify and access the channels in their preferred language.
In a bid to localize its outreach and deepen regional engagement, Sony Sports Network has also onboarded popular actor Rana Daggubati as the face of its Telugu and Tamil campaigns. His inclusion in the marketing efforts is expected to strengthen the cultural connect and attract younger, digital-savvy audiences in South India.
By offering localized, high-quality sports content, Sony Sports Network is not just expanding its footprint – it’s redefining how Indian audiences experience sports. These dedicated Tamil and Telugu channels represent a bold, forward-looking investment in India’s regional diversity and a step towards more inclusive and engaging sports entertainment.
