Procter & Gamble has appointed President and CEO Shailesh Jejurikar as Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective August 1, 2026. The move adds an important new dimension to his leadership role at one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies.
Jejurikar, who was born in Mumbai, has spent more than 37 years with P&G and has held leadership positions across major businesses and geographies. His elevation to chairman comes as the company continues to rely on experienced internal leadership to guide strategy, execution, and governance.
The transition also marks a notable handover from Jon Moeller, who will retire from the Board on July 31 and leave the company on August 14 after a long tenure. With Jejurikar taking on both CEO and chairman responsibilities, P&G is signaling continuity at the top while keeping its leadership structure tightly aligned.
For P&G, this appointment reflects confidence in a leader who already understands the company’s operating model, brand portfolio, and long-term priorities. Jejurikar has been part of P&G’s global leadership team for years and has worked across major categories, including Fabric and Home Care, which gives him a deep view of the business.
The combined role may also help streamline decision-making as P&G navigates a fast-changing global consumer market. In large multinational companies, board leadership matters not only for governance but also for how effectively strategy is translated into business performance.
Jejurikar’s appointment is therefore more than a title change. It is a strong signal that P&G is betting on continuity, institutional knowledge, and steady execution under a leader who has grown with the company.
