NODWIN Gaming has bought Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) share in Evo, making it the majority owner of the Evolution Championship Series (Evo), a top global fighting game tournament. This purchase shows how aggressively NODWIN is growing in the esports field and strengthens its position as a major player in the industry. Even though SIE is no longer the owner, it will still be a global sponsor of Evo until 2028, when it will stop supporting the fighting game community.
The partnership includes working with other global partners like Qiddiya and RTS for several years, which will help Evo reach even more people around the world. Evo is getting stronger and plans to expand its reach beyond Las Vegas and into new parts of the world.
Originally based in India and supported by Sony Group Corporation, NODWIN Gaming has been buying up companies at a rapid pace. Some of these companies are AFK Gaming, Ninja Global, Freaks 4U Gaming, Branded, Comic Con India, StarLadder, and others. These smart moves have helped NODWIN grow its event planning, content creation, and influencer marketing skills across South Asia, Europe, West Asia, and the United States.
NODWIN wants to use this purchase to make Evo more well-known around the world, get people more involved in the community, and take advantage of new opportunities in the esports space. The fact that Saudi Arabia-backed partner Qiddiya is involved also shows that more and more people from other countries are investing in the esports ecosystem, even though human rights groups have raised concerns about it.
NODWIN’s purchase of Evo’s stake is a big step toward becoming a global esports powerhouse. It opens the door for more growth and new ideas in competitive gaming.
