JioStar has appointed Santosh Khandekar as director for entertainment pricing, planning, supply and ad products for its digital business. The move strengthens the platform’s leadership in ad monetisation at a time when streaming competition is pushing companies to make their inventory and pricing strategies sharper.
Khandekar shared the update on LinkedIn and said he joined JioStar in June 2026. In his new role, he is responsible for pricing strategy, inventory planning, supply management and digital advertising products, all of which are central to how a streaming platform earns revenue from advertisers.
Before moving to JioStar, he served as assistant vice president, revenue at VDO.AI. His earlier experience also includes roles at PubMatic, Moneycontrol, Fork Media, Netcore Solutions, Fuel Digital Media and ZEDO, giving him a broad background in ad tech, digital sales and product strategy.
The appointment fits JioStar’s larger push to strengthen its digital monetisation engine. As entertainment platforms grow, advertisers increasingly look for better targeting, clearer inventory planning and more efficient buying models, making this kind of leadership role strategically important.
For JioStar, Khandekar’s background across both publisher-side and ad-tech environments may help the company improve how it packages digital inventory and supports brand partners. The hire also signals continued investment in operational expertise as the platform expands its advertising business.
