Gupshup has launched Superagent, a new autonomous AI agent designed to handle customer conversations across channels and help businesses move faster from intent to conversion. The product is positioned as more than a chatbot, with capabilities that span campaign creation, journey orchestration, support resolution, analytics, and continuous optimization.
At its core, Superagent is built to take on the complexity of customer engagement by acting as a full-stack orchestrator rather than a reactive assistant. It can design and launch campaigns, manage end-to-end customer journeys, process transactions, provision messaging and voice infrastructure, and monitor performance in real time. Gupshup says the system is meant to reduce manual effort while improving speed, consistency, and business outcomes.
The platform works across major communication channels including WhatsApp, RCS, SMS, Telegram, Instagram, PSTN voice, and WhatsApp voice, giving brands a unified way to engage customers in the channels they already use. It is also designed to operate in multiple languages and can be activated through web, WhatsApp, voice, or RCS, making it easier for businesses to embed AI into existing workflows.
Gupshup is backing Superagent with its long-running messaging and voice infrastructure, which the company says supports 50,000 businesses across more than 100 countries and processes billions of messages every month. That operational depth is a key differentiator, because it allows the AI to make context-aware decisions based on channel behavior, regional needs, and industry-specific engagement patterns.
The company says early beta users have seen major efficiency gains, including reductions in time, effort, and cost, along with improved conversion outcomes. This suggests that Superagent is being positioned not just as an AI layer, but as a business tool for revenue generation and customer lifecycle management.
As enterprises increasingly look for AI systems that can execute tasks instead of merely answering questions, Gupshup’s launch reflects a broader shift in conversational AI. With Superagent, the company is betting that the next phase of customer engagement will be autonomous, contextual, and tightly tied to measurable business results.
