ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has appointed Ankur Mishra as Senior Lead – Media Relations, marking a key addition to its corporate communications team as the steelmaker scales up its India footprint and capital expenditure plans. Based in Mumbai, Mishra will lead media engagement and stakeholder communications for one of India’s largest and most visible steel joint ventures.
Mishra moves into corporate communications after more than five years at ET NOW, where he most recently served as Senior News Editor and Chief of Bureau from January 2025, having earlier worked as Deputy News Editor for over three years. Across nearly two decades in journalism, he has worked across business news gathering, reporting, research, production, editorial planning and newsroom management, with a strong focus on equity markets, macroeconomy, corporate earnings and policy.
Before ET NOW, Mishra was Assistant Editor at The Financial Express, and spent more than nine years at BTVI in roles including Deputy News Editor, News Producer and Associate Producer. He also worked with CNBC Awaaz as Assistant Producer, developing story ideas, coordinating with reporters and contributing to reporting assignments, and began his media career with an internship at Zee News in 2006. On LinkedIn, he describes his experience as “13+ years in Equity, F&O, Commodities, Currency, Mutual Funds, Insurance, Personal Finance, Banking, Auto, Infra, Real Estate, IT, Telecom, Media, Energy, Metals & Mining”.
The appointment comes as AM/NS India continues to expand capacity and invest heavily in new projects, including a fresh ₹70,000 crore investment in Andhra Pradesh and ongoing debottlenecking and modernisation at its Hazira plant in Gujarat. With steel increasingly in the spotlight around infrastructure, auto, renewable energy and “Make in India” narratives, Mishra’s deep business-media background is expected to help the company sharpen its media strategy, manage complex stakeholder conversations and amplify its growth story across national and regional outlets.
