The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) has established its first-ever Creative Council as part of its newly structured 2026–27 agenda, appointing Josy Paul, Chairman and Group Chief Creative Officer of BBDO Group India, to lead the initiative.
The Creative Council aims to elevate the standard of Indian advertising by bringing together diverse creative voices, independent agencies, regional talent, and emerging practitioners. Its remit spans talent development, cross-industry engagement, and the exchange of ideas across disciplines and generations.
The Council will create opportunities for collaboration, experimentation, mentorship, and dialogue, with planned activities including debates, discussions, exhibitions, readings, and film screenings. A key priority will be nurturing next-generation talent and championing the diversity of India’s independent and regional agencies.
Josy Paul brings more than 25 Cannes Lions to the role, including a Grand Prix and multiple Gold awards, positioning him as a prominent voice for creative leadership in Indian advertising.
The Council forms part of AAAI’s newly structured board for 2026–27, which was announced earlier this month under President Dr. Sandeep Goyal and Vice-President Jaydeep Gandhi. The revamped board brings together independent agencies, regional businesses, creative leaders, and major advertising and media networks, with a stated focus on broadening industry representation.
