VETO secures exclusive India OTT rights for Billie Jean King Cup 2026

VETO, India’s subscription-free OTT platform, has secured exclusive OTT streaming rights for the Billie Jean King Cup 2026 in India, expanding its live sports portfolio less than a year after launch. The deal gives VETO the digital window for one of global tennis’ most prominent women’s team competitions, shortly after it announced exclusive OTT rights for the Davis Cup 2026, the men’s counterpart.
The Billie Jean King Cup Finals will be held in Shenzhen, China, from September 22 to 27, 2026, with eight nations competing and Italy defending the title. Indian viewers will be able to stream the tournament on VETO’s app and website, alongside the platform’s growing mix of 60+ live channels, web series and content across 12 languages and 10+ genres.
The acquisition positions VETO as a notable player in India’s sports streaming market, despite being a free, ad-supported platform launched only in September 2025. By securing two of tennis’ biggest team events within its first year, the platform is signalling an intent to carve out a niche in premium, rights-led sports content without relying on a subscription paywall, at a time when many competitors are bundling sports into paid tiers.
For tennis fans in India, the deal adds another legal streaming option beyond the JioStar–Star Sports ecosystem that holds rights to Grand Slams and other major tours, and could help broaden viewership for women’s team tennis through a zero-cost access model.
