Kia India has officially launched the Sorento, one of its most celebrated global nameplates, marking its debut in the Indian market with a comprehensive campaign built around the theme “Global Icon. Reimagined for India.” The campaign, unveiled ahead of the September 4, 2026 launch date, positions the three-row flagship SUV as Kia’s most advanced ICE-powered product for the Indian market, combining hybrid efficiency, all-wheel-drive capability, and AI-powered connectivity.
The campaign’s creative narrative opens with the line “A legacy that knows no borders. India is next,” acknowledging the Sorento’s established global reputation while signaling its arrival in India’s competitive premium SUV segment. The messaging emphasizes three core technological pillars: Live Gen AI for intelligent conversations and real-time assistance, hybrid powertrain efficiency for reduced emissions and improved fuel economy, and AWD confidence for enhanced traction and driving dynamics across varied road conditions.
A series of campaign films support the launch, each highlighting different aspects of the Sorento’s value proposition. The design walkaround film showcases the SUV’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, emphasizing its commanding presence as the longest and widest vehicle in Kia’s Indian lineup. Another film focuses on the Kia AI Assistant, demonstrating how the Live Generative AI-powered system transforms questions into answers and curiosity into discovery during the driving experience.
The campaign’s tone balances premium aspiration with practical functionality, positioning the Sorento not merely as a status symbol but as a technologically advanced family vehicle that delivers both emotional appeal and rational benefits. Pre-bookings are already open through Kia India dealerships and the official website, with the company targeting early deliveries ahead of the festive season.
Kia has commenced production of the India-spec Sorento at its Anantapur facility, with the SUV expected to be priced between Rs 30-40 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on variant and localization levels. The campaign will run across digital, social media, and dealership touchpoints, with the official launch event streaming live on Kia India’s YouTube channel on September 4, 2026.
