Google Gemini has brought Shah Rukh Khan into its latest advertising campaign, presenting the Bollywood star as a relatable user of the artificial intelligence platform. The campaign uses Khan’s warmth, humour, and familiar screen presence to show how Gemini can become a useful companion for everyday conversations, ideas, and problem-solving.
The campaign focuses on Gemini Live, Google’s conversational AI experience that allows users to interact with the assistant through more natural, real-time exchanges. Instead of presenting artificial intelligence as a distant or complicated technology, the ad places it within ordinary situations and shows how users can ask questions, explore possibilities, and receive support through conversation.
Khan’s role is central to the campaign’s storytelling. Known for his ability to connect with audiences across age groups, he helps make the technology feel more approachable and familiar. The campaign uses the idea of a dependable digital companion, suggesting that Gemini can be available whenever users need help, inspiration, information, or a fresh perspective.
The campaign uses the line ‘Ab dost hai saath, toh khul ke karo baat’, presenting Gemini as a supportive friend that people can speak to openly. Shah Rukh Khan’s presence adds emotional warmth and mass appeal, helping Google communicate the technology to audiences beyond early adopters and English-speaking urban users.
Developed with McCann India and Nirvana Films, the campaign also highlights Gemini’s multilingual capabilities and its relevance for audiences across Bharat. The creative approach combines a familiar Bollywood face, an everyday family situation, and a culturally recognisable skill to demonstrate how AI can participate in real-life decision-making.
The campaign was released across YouTube and Instagram on August 8. Its storytelling reflects Google’s broader effort to move the conversation around AI from technical features to usefulness, accessibility, and human connection. By presenting Gemini Live as a companion that helps people speak freely and discover possibilities, the campaign gives conversational AI a more familiar place in everyday life.
