Mondelēz International has appointed Vinay Subramanyam as Vice President – Marketing for India, marking a leadership transition within the company’s marketing team. He succeeds Nitin Saini, who has been elevated to a regional role as General Manager, Indonesia, in Southeast Asia.
Subramanyam joins Mondelēz India with more than two decades of experience across the consumer goods sector. Before taking up his new role, he served as Head of Marketing, South Asia at Kellanova, now part of Mars Snacking, where he was also a member of the AMEA Commercial Leadership Team.
At Kellanova, Subramanyam was responsible for category growth, strategic business initiatives, and brand and marketing programmes across South Asia. His experience included managing consumer-facing brands, developing integrated marketing strategies, leading innovation, and working with cross-functional teams across markets.
Earlier in his career, he held marketing and leadership positions at Pidilite Industries, Britannia Industries, and VIP Industries. He began his professional journey in sales before moving into broader marketing and business leadership roles, giving him experience across commercial planning, brand building, distribution, and consumer engagement.
In his new position, Subramanyam will oversee marketing for Mondelēz India’s portfolio of snacking brands. His mandate is expected to include brand strategy, category development, innovation, consumer communication, digital marketing, and demand creation across the company’s business segments.
Samir Jain, President of Mondelēz India, said Subramanyam brings a strong record of building brands, driving category growth, leading innovation, and developing high-performing teams. He added that Subramanyam’s consumer-centric approach would support the company’s next phase of growth in India.
Subramanyam holds a master’s degree in management from MICA, Ahmedabad, and a graduate degree in business management from Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu. He has also been recognised among India’s leading marketers by industry publications.
His appointment comes as the Indian snacking market becomes increasingly competitive, with consumers seeking new formats, premium products, convenience, and more engaging brand experiences. Subramanyam’s experience across multiple consumer categories is expected to help Mondelēz strengthen its brands and accelerate growth in the market.
