Nielsen has launched Ad Intel AI, an AI-powered upgrade to its long-running Ad Intel platform, positioning it as a global, independent media intelligence solution built for the AI era. The new product is designed to convert fragmented advertising data into real-time, actionable insights for marketers, agencies and publishers.
Ad Intel has historically been known as one of the most comprehensive sources of competitive ad-spend and creative data, tracking 5.5 million brands and 4.6 million advertisers across 23 media types in more than 90 markets worldwide. With Ad Intel AI, Nielsen is shifting from static reporting dashboards to an intelligent, decision-driven platform that can surface competitor strategies, spend shifts, emerging trends and winning creative patterns through a conversational interface.
The platform brings together data from TV, CTV and streaming, retail media, search, radio and audio, social and digital, print, out-of-home and cinema to give users a unified view of advertising activity. By layering AI on top of this dataset, Nielsen says it can offer “faster, more accurate, more personalised” intelligence, helping brands transform media fragmentation into clearer market certainty.
“The AI race relies on the most accurate data and that’s what Nielsen owns,” said Nielsen chief product officer Akhil Parekh. “We are the keepers of one of the largest studies of human behavior ever assembled, having captured how people spent their time for several decades. By combining AI with the industry’s most accurate and comprehensive data, we turn media fragmentation into market certainty. AI is the mechanism by which we will become faster, more accurate, more personalized and more indispensable to the clients who rely on us for media intelligence to drive their business.”
Ad Intel AI is also described as the first in a new generation of AI-led products that will sit across Nielsen’s ad ecosystem. The company’s roadmap includes end-to-end solutions that connect competitive intelligence, planning, creative and measurement, all supercharged by AI. For clients, the immediate benefit is a platform that can move from showing what happened in the market to actively guiding where to invest next, which messages to prioritise and how to respond to competitor moves in near real time.
