Prime Video has appointed Baishali Chatterjee as Head of Communications for India, adding an experienced media and communications professional to its leadership team at a time when streaming competition in the country remains intense. Chatterjee will be responsible for shaping the communication strategy for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios in India, including corporate messaging, content publicity, and brand reputation.
With around 18 years of experience across journalism, brand communications, digital marketing, and public relations, Chatterjee brings a broad perspective to the role. Her background is well suited to an entertainment business that needs to manage fast-moving content launches, high-profile talent relationships, and close engagement with media across business, entertainment, and technology.
Her appointment also comes at a time of senior communications transitions within Amazon’s streaming and studio organisation. Prime Video has been strengthening its regional communications structure, with leadership roles increasingly aligned to APAC and India priorities. Chatterjee will work closely with Serena Menon, who has recently taken on a broader regional communications mandate, ensuring better coordination between local and regional storytelling.
The role is strategically important because Prime Video’s communications function does more than promote shows and films. It helps build the brand narrative around originals, live sports, studio titles, platform features, and partnerships, while also managing reputation and crisis response when needed. Chatterjee’s experience in entertainment communications is likely to support this broader agenda.
For Prime Video, the appointment signals a continued investment in strong local leadership to keep its India communications sharp, timely, and culturally relevant. For Chatterjee, it marks a significant new chapter at one of the country’s most visible streaming platforms.
