JK Maxx Paints has brought actor Akshay Kumar on board as its new brand ambassador, signalling a stronger consumer-facing push in the highly competitive home décor and decorative paints space. The partnership comes as the company looks to widen its footprint across markets and strengthen brand recall among homeowners, painters, retailers and renovation-driven buyers.
The choice of Akshay Kumar is rooted in familiarity and trust. His mass appeal and durable public image make him a practical fit for a category where purchase decisions are often driven as much by perceived reliability as by product features. JK Maxx Paints is using that association to reinforce a brand identity built around performance, dependability and long-term value in home improvement.
The company also has an established legacy to build on. JK Maxx Paints draws on the four-decade presence of JK WallMaxx Wall Putty in the home enhancement segment, and that history gives the paints business an existing base of familiarity in Indian households. By linking that legacy with a widely recognisable celebrity, the brand appears to be trying to move from functional recognition to stronger emotional and aspirational appeal.
The rollout will be backed by an integrated campaign across print, television, digital, outdoor and retail touchpoints, suggesting that JK Maxx Paints wants national-scale visibility rather than a one-off endorsement announcement. Launched in April 2023, the brand operates with a manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, and an R&D centre in Navi Mumbai, while offering interior and exterior emulsions, textures and waterproofing products across price tiers. In a market crowded with large and regional players, the Akshay Kumar association gives JK Maxx Paints a stronger chance to stand out as it scales.
