Unilever has elevated Abhinav Ravikumar to Chief Marketing Officer for Personal Care India at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), effective January 2026. Based in Mumbai, Ravikumar will spearhead marketing strategies for HUL’s expansive personal care portfolio, including key brands like Lux and Lifebuoy. Announcing the role on LinkedIn, he expressed excitement about steering growth in this vital category.
Ravikumar joined Unilever in April 2011 as a sales and marketing intern in Manila, focusing on deodorant strategies across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Over 13 years, he progressed through sales leadership in Hyderabad, trade category management for homecare (Surf, Rin, Vim), and brand stewardship for laundry giants Rin and Sunlight, delivering market-share gains and innovations like water-saving variants. He later headed home and hygiene innovation for South Asia (€250M+ portfolio), Vim dishwash regionally, and eCommerce/Prestige Retail as General Manager from 2023-2025, leading 150+ teams to boost digital growth. Most recently, as Global Brand Director for Lux and Lifebuoy, he honed skills in proposition development and communications.
