Uditvanu Das has been elevated to Vice President at Havas Play, the sports and entertainment vertical of Havas India, marking a swift rise just over a year after he joined as Associate Vice President in June 2025. The promotion underscores how his blend of media, partnerships and sports commercialisation has translated into measurable outcomes for the agency and its clients.
Das’s career trajectory is notably non-linear, spanning digital advertising, media sales, content, events, franchise sport and athlete management before converging at Havas Play. He began in digital and media with stints at Yahoo, DDB Mudra, UTV and Rediffusion Y&R in the late 2000s and early 2010s, learning how brands think about audiences and inventory. A move to Walt Disney India saw him build out a digital sales team, while roles at Skarma, BriefKase and Sooperfly sharpened his commercial instincts, including conceptualising native content for platforms across personal finance, lifestyle and NBA.com India.
His pivot into sport proper began at Procam International, where he handled marketing and business development for marquee running events such as the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K and TCS World 10K, managing sponsors like Tata Motors and GoDaddy. He then spent two years as General Manager, Partnerships at Ranasthan Royals, running the commercial operation for both the IPL franchise and its Caribbean Premier League sister team Barbados Royals, bringing in partners including Red Bull, Dettol and Schneider Electric.
At JSW Sports, Das moved into athlete management and talent sales, securing and renewing partnerships for Olympic stars such as Neeraj Chopra (with Tommy Hilfiger, Omega, Tata AIA), Avinash Sable (with Deloitte) and Sreeshankar Murali (with Toyota) in the run-up to Paris 2024. A subsequent role at Burman Sports saw him lead sales and business development, including work on BigBasket’s tie-up as official quick-commerce partner for Royal Challengers Bangalore across IPL and WPL.
At Havas Play, he is now positioned to leverage this full-spectrum sports commercial experience as brands continue to pour more marketing spend into cricket, athletics and beyond.
