Levi Strauss & Co. has appointed Ashwini Ramakrishnan as Brand Lead for India, bringing in a seasoned marketer to steer the denim brand’s growth strategy in one of its key emerging markets.
In her new role, Ramakrishnan will lead the brand function for Levi’s in India, overseeing brand strategy, creative direction, integrated marketing campaigns and social-first engagement across the company’s portfolio of labels. She joins from Cleartrip, where she served as Head of Brand Marketing for around nine months, responsible for brand positioning, creative and social media strategy, and end-to-end campaign planning.
Before Cleartrip, Ramakrishnan built her career across retail, e-commerce, travel and media, with stints at companies such as FabAlley, where she led brand and marketing, and media agencies where she worked on large consumer brands. With more than a decade of experience, she brings expertise in consumer research, digital-first brand building and performance-oriented storytelling, skills that Levi’s sees as critical as it deepens its connect with younger, online-native consumers in India.
The appointment comes as global apparel brands increasingly focus on localised brand narratives, creator-led content and omnichannel experiences to drive relevance and loyalty in competitive markets. For Levi’s India, Ramakrishnan’s mandate is expected to span everything from campaign ideation and influencer partnerships to retail marketing and community initiatives, as the brand looks to balance its heritage with contemporary culture and fashion trends.
