Porter has appointed Gaurav Jain as its Chief Financial Officer. Jain joins the Bengaluru-based logistics platform after more than 11 years at Amazon. He most recently served as Director and Head of Finance for India Operations and Supply Chain at Amazon, a role he held since January 2025. His appointment comes as Porter continues to scale its operations and strengthen its financial leadership.
Jain brings over 20 years of experience across e-commerce, financial services and FMCG. Before his most recent role at Amazon, he was Director Finance for Amazon’s India Consumer business from October 2022 to January 2025. He previously held the positions of Senior Finance Manager and Finance Manager at Amazon after joining the company in 2015. At Amazon, he worked on finance strategy, operations, supply chain and consumer business economics. This background is directly relevant for a logistics platform like Porter, which operates at the intersection of technology, operations and unit economics.
Before Amazon, Jain held finance and strategy roles across financial services and FMCG. He was Business Planner and Controller at Shalimar Paints from 2013 to 2015. He also served as Vice President of Group Strategy at Religare from 2010 to 2013. He began his career as an Analyst at Ambit Capital in 2010. Earlier, he spent close to three years at Unilever, where he worked as a Business Leadership Trainee and later as Manager, Investor Relations, India. Jain is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. His experience spans e-commerce, financial services, consumer goods, finance and strategy.
Porter is one of India’s leading intra-city logistics platforms. It offers on-demand truck and tempo services for businesses and consumers. The company uses technology to match shippers with transporters and drivers. It has expanded from intra-city moves to inter-city freight, warehousing and supply chain solutions. In recent years, Porter has raised significant capital from investors. It has also been focusing on profitability, operational efficiency and sustainable growth. A seasoned CFO like Jain can help the company navigate this next phase.
The appointment signals Porter’s focus on institutionalising its finance function. As the company scales, it needs finance leadership that can handle complexity. Jain’s experience at Amazon gives him exposure to large-scale operations, supply chain finance and data-driven decision-making. His background in FMCG and financial services adds further depth. This combination is valuable for Porter, which serves a wide range of customers, from small businesses to large enterprises.
