ITC Limited has elevated Chandan Kumar to General Manager – Marketing for its Aashirvaad Dairy business, marking a key leadership move as the FMCG giant continues to build scale in the dairy category. Kumar announced the promotion on LinkedIn and took on the new role in July 2026, after nearly 10 years with ITC.
Prior to this elevation, Kumar served as Senior Brand Manager at ITC from July 2019 to June 2026, having joined the company around 2016 – 17 and progressed through roles from Brand Manager to Senior Brand Manager and now General Manager – Marketing. During his tenure, he played a central role in building the Aashirvaad Svasti brand, working across brand strategy, portfolio management, communication, new product development, marketing campaigns and P&L management. He also led ITC’s entry into the dairy category under the Aashirvaad brand, overseeing the launch of products including milk, curd, paneer, lassi and mishti doi.
Before joining ITC, Kumar spent over seven years with Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the organisation behind Amul, where he worked across sales and brand management roles, including Area Sales Manager, Key Account Manager for modern trade and Brand Manager. At GCMMF, his responsibilities included driving growth for milk powder brands, developing regional marketing strategies and managing modern trade operations for Amul’s dairy portfolio, including brands such as Amulya and Amulspray.
Kumar holds an MBA in Marketing from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) (2007–09) and a BSc in Chemistry from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. With around 17 years of experience in the FMCG sector, he brings expertise spanning consumer insights, brand building, new product development, digital marketing and market expansion.
His elevation comes as ITC continues to invest in its dairy and foods portfolio, leveraging Kumar’s dual experience at Amul and Aashirvaad to strengthen category leadership, drive premiumisation and expand distribution in a highly competitive market.
