Bajaj Auto has rolled out a nostalgic sequel to its famous 2001 launch television commercial to celebrate twenty-five years of the Bajaj Pulsar brand. Conceptualised and developed by creative agency partner Ogilvy, the commercial revisits the original storyline to introduce the latest edition of the Pulsar 150 motorcycle.
The new film brings back the same two nurses from the classic hospital scene that first defined the brand’s bold identity. In the sequel, they walk through the room and notice a large silhouette draped under a white sheet. The familiar sight triggers a sense of déjà vu, taking them back to their initial encounter from over two decades ago. When they pull back the sheet, the all-new Pulsar 150 is revealed, turning their famous exclamation from “It’s a boy!” into “It’s a bad boy”.
The original 2001 launch campaign, crafted by Piyush Pandey at Ogilvy, popularized the legendary tagline “Definitely Male” and revolutionized motorcycle marketing across India. Over the last twenty-five years, Pulsar has evolved into a powerhouse brand with over twenty million units sold globally.
This anniversary film blends memorable advertising heritage with contemporary performance appeal. By reconnecting with beloved characters from its past, Bajaj Auto bridges nostalgic brand loyalty with the expectations of today’s modern riders.
