Wavemaker India has appointed Abhik Banerjee as Head – West Region. The appointment was shared through the agency’s welcome post. Banerjee will now lead Wavemaker’s operations across the western region. His role will include client management, media planning, business growth and team leadership. He will work closely with the agency’s India leadership to strengthen its regional presence.
Banerjee joins Wavemaker at a time when the media business is changing quickly. Brands are using television, digital, social media, connected TV and retail media together. They also want clear results from every campaign. Regional markets are becoming more important in this environment. Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and other western markets have large and diverse consumer audiences. They are also home to many major businesses and media companies.
As Head – West Region, Banerjee is expected to manage key client relationships. He will work with brands to understand their business goals and consumer needs. He will then help create media strategies that deliver reach, engagement and business growth. His responsibilities will also include guiding teams across planning, buying, digital media and analytics.
Wavemaker is part of WPP Media. The agency offers media planning, investment, data, technology and content solutions. It works with brands across sectors such as FMCG, finance, automotive, retail, technology and healthcare. The agency uses consumer insights and data to plan campaigns across different platforms. Banerjee’s role will be to bring these capabilities together for clients in the western region.
The appointment also strengthens Wavemaker India’s leadership team. Regional leaders play an important role in managing local market needs. They help agencies understand cultural differences, media habits and changing consumer behaviour. They also support new business development and team growth.
For Banerjee, the new role is a step up in responsibility. He will now lead a large region and work with senior clients. His focus will be on building strong partnerships and improving campaign outcomes. He will also help Wavemaker India grow its presence in important western markets.
