Purnima Lamba brings nearly 25 years of experience in brand strategy, consumer marketing, and communications. She has worked across India, the UK, and the Netherlands during her long career. Before joining Mahindra, she spent close to 25 years at Unilever, where she built a strong reputation in brand leadership. She handled several well-known beauty and personal care brands there. Her portfolio included names like Lakmé, Sunsilk, TRESemmé, and Vaseline.
In her most recent assignment at Unilever, Lamba served as Global Brand Vice President for Knorr. This was a global role, and it gave her wide exposure to brand leadership on an international scale. Over the years, she also worked on projects involving digital innovation, consumer insights, and strategic thinking. Earlier in her career, she led innovation at Lakme and worked on the transformation of the Fair & Lovely brand into Glow & Lovely.
At Mahindra Group, Lamba will now shape and guide the group’s corporate brand and communications strategy. Her main task will be to build a strong and consistent brand narrative across all of Mahindra’s businesses. The group operates in many different sectors, so keeping the brand message clear and unified is important. She will also work on strengthening brand salience across both traditional and digital platforms.
Lamba’s move marks a big shift in her career. She is moving from Unilever’s multi-category brand environment to a group-level corporate role at Mahindra. This change brings together her experience from both Indian and international markets. It will now support Mahindra’s communication and brand-building efforts going forward.
