Honasa Consumer has promoted Nilesh Kotalwar to Chief Marketing Officer, a move that underlines the company’s commitment to digital-led brand building in India’s competitive beauty and personal care market. The elevation comes after Kotalwar’s successful stint as Senior Vice President – D2C and Online Revenue, where he helped strengthen Honasa’s e-commerce capabilities and scale online growth across its portfolio, including Mamaearth, The Derma Co., Aqualogica, BBlunt and other brands.
As CMO, Kotalwar will oversee integrated marketing for the entire Honasa portfolio, bringing together brand strategy, consumer insights, performance marketing, and content to drive deeper engagement with digital-native consumers. His remit includes sharpening Honasa’s digital-first positioning, ensuring that campaigns travel seamlessly across marketplaces, D2C platforms, social media, and offline touchpoints.
Kotalwar brings more than 15 years of experience in FMCG, e-commerce and digital transformation, with earlier leadership roles at Hindustan Unilever and Godrej Consumer Products. An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, he has worked on categories ranging from beverages to personal care while building modern trade and e-commerce capabilities. At Honasa, this cross-category and omnichannel experience is expected to help the company navigate rising competition and changing consumer expectations in beauty and skincare.
For Honasa, the appointment also reflects a broader strategic realignment that prioritises sharper portfolio focus and more efficient allocation of marketing investments across its brands. With Kotalwar in the CMO role, the company is betting on data-backed marketing, agile experimentation, and stronger consumer storytelling to sustain growth.
In India’s fast-evolving D2C landscape, placing a proven online revenue leader at the centre of marketing is a clear statement: for Honasa, building loved brands now starts with owning the consumer relationship in digital, and then amplifying it everywhere else.
