Pears, the heritage soap brand from Hindustan Unilever Limited, has unveiled a new television campaign titled ‘Farak Clear Hai’, shifting focus to the craftsmanship behind its iconic transparent amber bar. Conceptualized by TBWA\Lintas, the campaign takes consumers inside the manufacturing process, revealing how the brand’s signature glycerin-rich liquid transforms into its unique solid, transparent form.
The film goes beyond simply showcasing the product’s transparency as a visual feature, instead turning it into the central creative idea by opening the doors to the factory. Viewers are taken through the journey of pouring, moulding, cutting, and careful quality inspection, bringing alive the people, precision, and patience behind every Pears bar. This approach transforms over two centuries of soap-making expertise into visible proof of what has made the brand distinctive and trusted across generations.
Made with 98% pure plant-based glycerin, the soap’s formulation has been a key differentiator for the brand since its inception over 200 years ago. The new film reinforces this heritage by showing the meticulous process that ensures each bar reaches pure transparency before reaching consumers.
Abhinav Ravikumar, CMO – Personal Care, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), said, “Pears has always been recognised for the transparency of its iconic bar. Behind that distinctive form lies a highly considered process, refined through generations of expertise. With the Factory Film, we wanted to make that process visible and allow consumers to see the care, precision and consistency behind every Pears bar. The film brings to life how our commitment to quality and craftsmanship has created a product that has helped make Pears an iconic, loved brand for over two centuries.”
Sarvesh Raikar, president – Creative, TBWA\Lintas, said: “The transparent amber bar has always been Pears’ most powerful and distinctive asset. Rather than simply telling consumers what makes it different, we wanted to take them to where that difference is created. By opening the doors to the factory, the film allows the product and its making to tell the story – turning transparency from a visual feature into the central creative idea. The difference has always been there; now consumers can see how it is made. Farak Clear Hai.”
The campaign is now live across television and Pears’ digital platforms, giving the brand’s legacy a contemporary role in today’s market. By revealing the craftsmanship behind its iconic transparent bar, Pears aims to strengthen consumer trust and differentiate itself in a crowded personal care segment through authentic, transparent storytelling.
