Vodafone Idea Appoints Manoj Murali as Chief Operating Officer

Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has appointed Manoj Murali as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Murali brings more than 25 years of experience in telecom and mobility. He has worked across India and Africa, leading business growth, market share, profitability, sales, marketing, distribution, network operations and customer experience.
Before joining Vodafone Idea, Murali was Chief Business Officer at Ola Electric, where he helped shift the company towards a dealer-led retail network in India. He joined Ola Electric in July 2026.
Earlier, Murali served as Regional Business Head – West at Reliance Jio from December 2024 to June 2026. He oversaw operations across Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Murali also spent more than two decades at Bharti Airtel. His career covers mobile services, broadband, direct-to-home, payments banking, mobile commerce and digital businesses.
His appointment comes at an important time for Vodafone Idea. The telecom operator is focused on improving operational performance, retaining subscribers and strengthening its position against Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.
Murali’s experience in large-scale telecom operations and business turnarounds is expected to support Vi’s efforts to improve customer experience, distribution and execution across key markets.
