
Theobroma Foods has appointed Anand Tomar as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead the bakery and patisserie brand’s technology strategy, digital transformation, and IT infrastructure as it scales nationwide operations. Tomar confirmed his appointment via a LinkedIn post, expressing gratitude to company leadership for the opportunity to build a robust digital backbone.
Tomar brings nearly two decades of strategic IT leadership across consumer goods, quick-service restaurants, retail, and financial services. He joins Theobroma from Allied Blenders & Distillers Ltd., where he served as Chief Information Officer from May 2025 to September 2026, steering enterprise modernization, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks. In June 2026, he was also recognized as a Productivity Icon at CIOPowerList.
Before his stint at Allied Blenders & Distillers, Tomar was Head of Information Technology at McDonald’s India from August 2021 to May 2025. In that role, he led core infrastructure overhauls, enhanced restaurant tech systems, and fortified data privacy and security protocols across retail touchpoints.
Earlier in his career, Tomar held technology leadership roles at Marico Limited, where he managed consumer tech platforms, and Trent Ltd. (Tata Group), overseeing retail IT infrastructure and information security. His foundational experience also includes building secure systems at HDFC Bank and working with Zenith Infotech.
His core technical specialities include enterprise resource planning (SAP), cloud infrastructure, virtualization, process optimization, PCI DSS compliance, cybersecurity, and vendor ecosystem management. At Theobroma, Tomar’s mandate is to establish scalable digital systems and modern retail technologies that support seamless omnichannel growth while enhancing customer experience across physical patisseries and online ordering channels.
