Gokul Agro Resources Ltd. has launched a new national campaign for Vitalife, its flagship edible oil brand, built around a proposition that moves the conversation beyond competing oils to the changing way India eats.
Conceptualised by Glassbox, the campaign identifies its real opponent as “Modern Chaos”: the increasingly busy lifestyles that have made eating out, ordering in, and relying on convenience-led food choices a regular part of everyday life.
The campaign arrives at a time when India’s dietary habits are changing significantly. According to NFHS-6, 30.7% of Indian women and 27.3% of men are overweight or obese, compared with 24% and 22.9%, respectively, in the previous round. Meanwhile, India’s online food delivery market has grown to an estimated USD 67.9 billion from USD 55.6 billion, according to IMARC Group.
As India orders more and cooks less, Vitalife is shifting the category conversation from product attributes alone to the broader role of home-cooked food in everyday health.
At the heart of the campaign is the proposition, “Swaad Swaad Mein Sehat.” Three films, releasing in Hindi, Gujarati and Bengali, take familiar things that Indian consumers habitually order in and bring them back to the home kitchen.
Arun Harne, Chief Business Officer, Gokul Agro Resources Ltd., said, “We want to encourage families to choose home-cooked food more often. For us, if Vitalife can play a small part in bringing more wholesome, home-cooked meals to the table, we’ve done our job.”
The films form part of a larger, integrated campaign ecosystem. This includes the Home-Cooked Food Index, an annual study examining how many meals an Indian family still cooks at home; a creator programme spanning Gujarat, Punjab, Bengal and Maharashtra; and an integrated media approach across Meta, YouTube, OTT and CTV to build reach across key Indian markets.
Anil Nair, Co-founder, Glassbox, said, “Creativity here is a system, not a campaign. The films, the index, the creators and the shelf are one engine, built so that the idea keeps working long after the launch noise has gone.”
Geetanjali Bhattacharji, Co-founder, Glassbox, added, “This is the first time the category has taken on a behaviour instead of a competitor. As convenience increasingly shapes the way we eat, Vitalife is bringing the focus back to home-cooked meals, putting swaad and sehat on the same plate.”
Pankaj Gupta, Category Manager, Gokul Agro Resources Ltd, said, “The edible oil category has long competed on product attributes. With Vitalife, we are shifting the conversation to everyday food choices. ‘Swaad Swaad Mein Sehat’ is about bringing taste and health back to everyday meals.”
The Vitalife portfolio comprises Refined Sunflower Oil, Kachi Ghani Mustard Oil and Refined Soyabean Oil, fortified with vitamins A, D and E. The range is available across marketplaces and general trade, with the new campaign taking the brand’s proposition to consumers nationwide.
